🐾 In Loving Memory of Carlos

26 November 2023

Carlos wasn't just a pug—he was family, a local legend, and a friend to everyone who met him.

From the day he arrived, Carlos had a way of touching people's hearts. He became one of the most loved dogs in Salt Rock, bringing smiles wherever he went. Whether you met him on the beach, walking through town, or relaxing at one of the local pubs, chances are you'll remember his happy face and wagging tail.

Carlos loved joining us at the pubs around Salt Rock, where every establishment welcomed him like one of their own. It wasn't unusual for him to be greeted with his favourite treat—a few slices of cucumber waiting just for him.

The beach was his happy place. He adored the ocean and was never afraid of the water. From a very young age, he taught himself to swim, and if he had the chance to jump onto a bodyboard, he would proudly show everyone that even a pug could surf!

One of the most special friendships Carlos made was with Oom André and Tannie Annetjie at Taso's. Carlos became part of the Taso's family, helping inspire it to become a dog-friendly place where countless furry friends are welcomed.

Although Carlos sadly passed away onĀ 26 November 2023Ā due to a heart condition, his story didn't end there. OnĀ 7 January 2024, more than 50 family members, friends and dog lovers gathered at Taso's to celebrate his life.

To keep his legacy alive, we createdĀ Salty Pug—a brand inspired by Carlos' adventurous spirit. VisitĀ www.saltypug.co.zaĀ to discover our flip-flops, hoodies, T-shirts and more.

"A dog may only be part of your life, but to them, you are their whole world."

Forever Loved. Forever Remembered. Forever Salty. 🐾
